Domestic Public Transportation

• By Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)

1. Take Taiwan High Speed Rail to Taichung Station.
2. Three alternatives are available from THSR Taichung Station to Tunghai University.
   • The conference organizer will provide free shuttle bus service on a fixed time schedule during the conference days to facilitate participants’ commute between THSR Taichung Station and the conference venue.  Click here for the shuttle bus timetable.
   • Take free shuttle bus No. 161, which takes about 40 minutes to Tunghai University. Get off at the bus stop of Tunghai University Station. For more information concerning No. 161, click here.
   • Taxi takes about 25 minutes to Tunghai University. The price is approximately 400 NTD.

• • From the North

    • (A)
      (1) Take National Freeway No. 1 (Sun Yat-Sen Freeway) southbound.
      (2) Get off at Exit 178 (台中交流道 Taichung Interchange), and turn right to Taiwan Boulevard.
      (3) Turn right at Taiwan Boulevard, and drive along it for a few blocks further, about 3 kilometers. You will then reach Tunghai University.
    • (B)
      (1) Take National Freeway No. 3 (蔣渭水 Freeway) southbound.
      (2) Get off at Exit 182.8K (龍井交流道, 龍井Interchange), and turn left to travel to Taichung, about 3 km. You will then reach Tunghai University.

  • From the South

    • (A)
      (1) Take National Freeway No. 1 (Sun Yat-Sen Freeway) northbound.
      (2) Get off at Exit 178 (台中交流道 Taichung Interchange). and turn left to Taiwan Boulevard.
      (3) Turn left at Taiwan Boulevard, and drive along it for a few blocks further, about 3 kilometers. You will then reach Tunghai University.
    • (B)
      (1) Take National Freeway No. 3 (蔣渭水 Freeway) northbound.
      (2) Get off at Exit 182.8K (龍井交流道, 龍井Interchange), and turn right to travel to Taichung, about 3 kilometers. You will then reach Tunghai University.

• By Train

  1. Take Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) Train to Taichung Station.
  2. Many buses (e.g., Bus No. 301. 302, 303, 306, to name just a few) head to Tunghai University. Get off at the bus stop of Tunghai University Station.
     The ride may take 40 minutes to one hour.
  3. Taxi takes about 30 minutes to Tunghai University. The price is approximately 300 NTD.

International Flights

• From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)

  1. Take taxi or shuttle bus from the airport to THSR Taoyuan Station, which takes about 20 minutes.
  2. Take THSR from Taoyuan Station to Taichung Station. This ride takes about  40 minutes.
  3. Regarding the transportation from THSR Taichung Station to Tunghai University, refer to the details in “By Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)” above.

• From Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)

  1. Take Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit (KMRT) from the Airport Station (R4) to Kaohsiung Main Station (R11) for TRA Train or THSR Zuoying Station (R16)
  2. Take THSR from Zuoying Station to Taichung Station. The ride takes about 50 minutes.
  3. Regarding the transportation from THSR Taichung Station to Tunghai University, refer to the details in “By Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)” above.

• From Taichung International Airport (RMQ)

  1. Taxi takes about 15 minutes to Tunghai University. The price is approximately  250 NTD.
